What I Got Out of the Book:
Twenty+ years ago, this book gave me the language for a feeling I couldn't name. My first side hustle Couple’s Concierge was an attempt to shift from (E) to (S) in hopes of making it all the way to (B). But I stumbled too hard (stubborn as a goat) and the side hustle didn’t survive.
Much later, I opened my massage studio. I’d gotten kicked out of (E), and the Business ownership opportunities didn’t pass muster. I didn’t jump to freedom; I shifted from (E) to (S) again.
I still owned a job. When health forced that "job" to stop, my income stopped too. That painful lesson burned in Kiyosaki's core truth: you don't want your source of income directly tied to your time.
The real work—simple in theory, hard in practice—is the mental shift to the right side of the quadrant.
